German Platinum Ribbon Fin Guppy
Size

Remarks:  A perfect starter fish! Guppies (Poecilia reticulata) are peaceful community fish that reproduce with ease. They are livebearers, meaning the females release live fry rather than laying eggs. It is recommended to keep more females than males, as males can easily harass females with relentless attempts to reproduce, leading to stress in the females.

These beautiful guppies were sourced from a German line that is now bred here at Imperial Tropicals. They have platinum white fins present on both males and some of the females. However, the males typically are the only ones to get the white or greenish-gold bodies. Through rigorous selective breeding, we have made this line even better with elegant, flowing ribbon fins that are present on both males and females! These are some truly gorgeous and unique guppies that are must have for any collector.

For most strains, males are very colorful while the females remain a gray or silver color. However, there are some exceptions to this rule so sexing these fish is best done by looking at the anal fin. The females will have short, rounded triangle shaped anal fins with a black spot on the body directly above it, these are her female reproductive organs. Males will have long, thin, pointed anal fins that form his male reproductive organs called the gonopodium.
