Petrotilapia microgalana. "Nkhata Orange"
Size

Remarks:  Petrotilapia microgalana. "Nkhata Orange" are a large species of mbuna that live in Nkhata Bay in Lake Malawi. Their habitat includes large rocks that are covered in sand, which they sift through to find food. Males guard large territories over a slab, and females are allowed to swim throughout the territories holding and protecting fry.

Fully mature and dominant males are larger than females and are blue instead of yellow/orange. Males do take some time to reach full color and will breed even when there is almost no blue on them and they are still showing some yellow color. These fish work well in most mbuna set-ups, though their size requires a tank larger than 75 gallons for full growth and comfort.
