Remarks: The East Coast Gold cichlid is an omnivore endemic to Madagascar. They are not an overly aggressive fish that should be kept with fish with similar temperaments. Overall the Ptychochromis grandidieri is relatively easy to breed in the aquarium. Males reach up to 9" and females generally get around 7".  Sometimes they can be found in brackish water in their natural habitat.
