Remarks: Protocheirodon pi, the Crystal Tetra of the Amazon, is a spectacular fish for planted tanks and biotopes, as well as community tanks. They have entirely translucent bodies with a single black spot on the caudal fin. Their swim bladder is visible as a "bubble" inside of their body. They are best kept in groups of 5 or more and are fairly undemanding as far as tank decor is concerned. In the wild, they are found in both clear and blackwater streams near the banks, swimming in large schools over sand.
