Remarks: Cryptocoryne spiralis "Tiger" are an uncommon yet very popular variant of Cryptocoryne spiralis. Instead of the usual mostly green hues, this variant has mostly reds or oranges when mature and healthy that make it pop against other plants and dark backgrounds. Not only does it have this gorgeous coloration, it also has brown stripes along the long, thin leaves giving it the tiger part of its name.
Like with most crypts, Cryptocoryne spiralis "Tiger" is not very demanding once established and can do well in low to medium light. However, to get the best color from this plant, give it a nutrient rich substrate and plenty of high quality light. The less light and nutrients it has, the more its color will be a sort of brown or tan instead of red or orange. Placement-wise, it is best as a background plant due to how tall it can grow with leaves potentially reaching 20 inches in length.
