Remarks: Anubias afzelii is perfect for any planted aquarium. It is relatively undemanding and is a low light plant native to Africa. What makes this anubias unique is that its leaves are fairly long and pointed compared to more common anubias such as nana. Their leaves also tend to reach up toward the surface of the tank rather than lay flat. As they are very similar, this anubias is commonly misidentified as Anubias congensis. The difference is that Anubias afzelii grows larger and has some-what more oblong leaves.
Anubias spp. should be tied to a rock, driftwood, or other decor, not planted into the substrate. If the rhizome, the thick main stem, is buried, it will likely rot away from being smothered. It will eventually grab and propagate itself to whatever it's tied to or wedged into using its strong roots.
You will receive a medium sized plant with 4-6 leaves.
