Remarks: Cichlasoma Amazonarum is the most rare in the Cichlasoma genus. They are widespread, but less common, throughout the Amazon basin in Brazil, Peru, and Colombia. The Amazon Cichlid can grow up to 5", making them ideal for a community tank. However, due to their semi-aggressive behavior, it would be best to have non-cichlid fish as tank-mates. If the proper conditions are set in the tank, they will readily form pairs for breeding.
